How much is the Psyvo Scholarship award per semester?
Each scholarship amount is to be determined prior to the application cycle opening per semester.
Is the Psyvo Scholarship a one-time award?
No, the Psyvo Scholarship is a renewable award, paid out each semester to recipients who continue to meet the eligibility criteria, including maintaining a good academic standing.
How many Psyvo Scholarships are awarded each cycle?
Psyvo anticipates awarding 100 scholarships for the upcoming Spring/Fall yearly cycle.
How will the scholarship funds be disbursed?
Scholarship funds will be sent directly to the recipient or the accredited educational institution prior to the start of each semester, provided the recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements.
Can the scholarship funds be used for anything other than tuition?
Yes, the funds are intended to be applied towards tuition, mandatory fees, or other documented educational expenses.
What is the renewal requirement for the scholarship?
To continue receiving the scholarship each semester, recipients must maintain a strong and consistent academic performance, including a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale for each subsequent semester of their graduate program. Failure to maintain this GPA may result in forfeiture of future scholarship funds. This requirement aims to provide ongoing motivation throughout the challenging phases of graduate studies.
Eligibility
Who is eligible to apply for the Psyvo Scholarship?
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria by the application deadline:
- Be currently enrolled in a graduate-level counseling program at an accredited institution within the United States (including all 50 states). Eligible programs include master’s degrees in counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, Christian Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy.
- Be actively participating in the internship or practicum phase of their graduate degree program during the semester for which they are applying.
- Possess a strong and consistent academic record, with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale for the most recently completed semester of their graduate program.
- Maintain an active Psyvo membership.
- Be a legal resident or citizen of the United States OR an international student currently in the United States with valid F-1 visa status and Curricular Practical Training (CPT) or Optional Practical Training (OPT) authorization.
I am in my first year of my Master's program. Can I apply?
No, you must be actively participating in the internship or practicum phase of your graduate program during the semester you are applying.
My GPA is 3.4. Can I still apply?
No, the minimum GPA requirement for the most recently completed semester is 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. We also look for a strong and consistent academic record.
I am an international student without CPT or OPT. Am I eligible?
No, international students must have valid F-1 visa status and current CPT or OPT authorization to be eligible.
What types of counseling programs are eligible?

You need to complete the online application form and upload a clear, legible copy of your most recent graduate program unofficial transcript. International students should also be prepared to provide documentation of their valid F-1 visa status and CPT/OPT authorization if requested.
What information should be included on my unofficial transcript?
Your transcript should include your full name, the name of the educational institution, the name of your graduate counseling program, courses and grades/GPA for the most recently completed semester, and an indication of internship/practicum enrollment (if explicitly stated by your institution).
Is an essay required as part of the application?
No, there is NO essay requirement for the Psyvo Scholarship. The evaluation is primarily based on your most recent semester GPA (at least 3.5) and a demonstrated strong and consistent academic record, along with meeting the other eligibility criteria.

Selection Process and Timeline
How are scholarship recipients selected?
Recipients are chosen primarily based on their verified Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher from their most recently completed graduate semester, a demonstrated strong and consistent academic record, maintaining an active Psyvo membership, and meeting all other eligibility criteria.
When will I be notified about the status of my application?
All applicants will be notified of the decision via the email address provided in their application approximately ten business days.
When will the scholarship funds be disbursed if I am selected?
Funds are anticipated to be sent directly to you or your institution prior to the start of each semester, contingent upon continued eligibility.
Does Psyvo discriminate in its scholarship selection process?
No, Psyvo administers its scholarship program in compliance with all applicable laws and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
Maintaining Eligibility After Award
What is required to continue receiving the scholarship in future semesters?
To maintain eligibility and receive continued funding, scholarship recipients must:
- Remain enrolled in an eligible graduate-level counseling program at a US-accredited institution.
- Maintain an active Psyvo membership.
- Continue active participation in the internship or practicum phase of their program.
- Maintain a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale for each subsequent semester.
- For international students, continue to maintain valid F-1 visa status and CPT/OPT authorization.
What happens if my GPA drops below 3.5 in a subsequent semester?
If your semester GPA falls below 3.5, you will likely forfeit any future scholarship funds. You may be required to provide an explanation, which will be reviewed by the Psyvo Scholarship Committee, but reinstatement is not guaranteed.
Do I need to reapply for the scholarship each semester?
No, the scholarship is renewable each semester as long as you continue to meet the eligibility criteria. However, you may be required to provide updated transcripts or other documentation to verify your continued eligibility.
