The program offers a structured, supportive relationship where both mentors and mentees can grow professionally.
Who can participate in the program?
- Mentors: Licensed counselors (LPCs) with at least 3 years of experience in the field.
- Mentees: Prelicensed counselors who are in the process of completing supervision requirements for licensure and seeking professional development and guidance.
How do I apply to be a mentee in the program?

As a mentee, your role is to attend regular mentorship sessions with your assigned mentor. Prepare for each session by reflecting on cases, challenges, and questions. Complete required forms (e.g., Supervision Log, Quarterly Progress Form). Stay engaged and proactive in the mentorship process.
How long will I be in the program?
You’ll remain in the program until you reach your provisional license or until the agreed mentorship period ends. The typical mentorship lasts 6 months to a year but may vary depending on individual progress and licensing requirements.

What’s in it for me as a mentor?
Mentoring is an opportunity to give back to the profession and make a real difference in a mentee’s career. Mentors are eligible for a quarterly honorarium in recognition of the time and effort invested in mentoring. Personal satisfaction and professional growth will enhance your leadership, teaching, and coaching skills while staying connected to the next generation of counselors.
How much time will I need to commit?
The time commitment for mentorship will vary, but typically you should expect to meet with your mentee at least twice per month (typically 1 hour per session). Complete quarterly progress reports for your mentee. Respond to occasional mentee inquiries between sessions.

How are stipend payments made?
Stipends are issued on a quarterly basis after each quarter ends, provided the mentee/mentor has met all program requirements (forms, sessions, etc.).
