About the Scholarship Terms & Conditions

  • Purpose: The Psyvo Scholarship is designed to support promising and dedicated students in the counseling field. It offers recurring financial aid to help students in advanced training focus on academic and clinical skill development.
  • Award Type: This is a renewable scholarship, awarded each semester to recipients who continue to meet the eligibility requirements.

Eligibility Requirements To be considered for the Psyvo Scholarship, all applicants must meet the following criteria by the application deadline:

  • Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in a graduate-level counseling program at an accredited institution within the United States.
    • Eligible programs are Master’s degrees in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
  • Program Phase: Must be actively participating in the internship or practicum phase of their graduate program for the semester they are applying.
  • Academic Standing: Must have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale from the most recently completed semester of their graduate program. A strong and consistent academic record is also required.
  • Residency/Visa Status: Applicants must be a legal resident or citizen of the United States OR an international student with a valid F-1 visa and current Curricular Practical Training (CPT) or Optional Practical Training (OPT) authorization.

Application Process

  • Submission Portal: Applications must be submitted through the official portal: https://www.psyvo.com/scholarships.
  • Deadline: The application portal for the Fall 2025 cycle will close at 11:59 PM on the specified end date. Late submissions are generally not accepted.
  • Required Documents: Applicants must submit a completed online application form and a clear, legible copy of their most recent unofficial graduate program transcript.
    • International students must be prepared to provide documentation of their valid F-1 visa status and CPT/OPT authorization if requested.
  • Transcript Information: The unofficial transcript must include the applicant’s full name, the institution’s name, the graduate program’s name, and a list of courses and grades/GPA for the most recently completed semester. It should also indicate internship or practicum enrollment if the institution explicitly states it.
  • Exclusions: No essay or references are required for the application.
  • Confirmation: Applicants will receive an automated email confirmation upon successful submission of their application.

Selection and Notification

  • Selection Criteria: Recipients are selected primarily based on a verified GPA of 3.5 or higher from their most recent graduate semester, a strong and consistent academic record, and fulfillment of all other eligibility criteria.
  • Notification: All applicants will be notified of the scholarship committee’s decision via the email address they provided in their application. This notification is expected to occur approximately ten days after the application deadline.

Award Details and Disbursement

  • Award Amount: The scholarship amount is determined prior to the opening of each semester’s application cycle.
  • Number of Awards: Psyvo plans to award 50 scholarships for the Fall 2025 cycle.
  • Disbursement: Scholarship funds will be sent directly to the recipient or their accredited educational institution before the start of each semester, provided all eligibility requirements are still being met.
  • Use of Funds: The funds are intended for tuition, mandatory fees, or other documented educational expenses.

Maintaining Eligibility and Scholarship Renewal

  • Renewal: The scholarship is renewable each semester, and recipients do not need to reapply. To receive continued funding, recipients must maintain their eligibility.
  • Renewal Requirements:
    • Remain enrolled in an eligible graduate-level counseling program at an accredited U.S. institution.
    • Continue to actively participate in the internship or practicum phase of the program.
    • Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale for each subsequent semester.
    • International students must maintain valid F-1 visa status and CPT/OPT authorization.
  • Verification: Recipients may be required to provide updated transcripts or other documents to verify their continued eligibility.

Forfeiture of Scholarship

  • A recipient’s scholarship funds may be forfeited if their GPA for a subsequent semester drops below 3.5.
  • In such cases, the recipient may need to provide an explanation to the Psyvo Scholarship Committee for review; however, reinstatement of the scholarship is not guaranteed.

General Conditions

  • Non-Discrimination: Psyvo administers its scholarship program in compliance with all applicable laws and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
